Bishop Dr. John R. Lewinson, born in Clarendon, Jamaica, is the seventh of ten children of Dr. Samuel and Mrs. Rosetta Lewinson. He began ministry at age 13 and has since dedicated over 63 years to pastoral leadership, church planting, and global outreach. His academic achievements include a Bachelor’s in Theology, a Master of Science in Religious Education, a Doctor of Theology, and a Doctorate in Divinity. He also holds certifications in Chaplaincy, Missional Leadership, and Post-Crisis Leadership.
Bishop Lewinson has planted and pastored churches across Jamaica, Boston, and Palm Bay, Florida, where he founded Greater Palm Bay Church of God in 1989. His ministry has touched lives in England, Canada, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, Ecuador, and throughout the United States. Known for his pastoral care, visionary leadership, and community engagement, he has mentored countless leaders and expanded outreach through partnerships with civic and faith-based organizations.
He has been recognized by Who’s Who Directory as one of North America’s Top Professionals (2017–2018) and awarded the Extraordinary Visionary Leadership Award for his impact in New England. His favorite hymn, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, reflects the enduring grace that has guided his life and ministry.
